County Administrator Board of Supervisors Authorizations for Friday,
January 15, 2016, Board Meeting:
- Adopt an order to approve the Claims Docket of January 15, 2016, in the amount of $395,982.79 and the electronic payment claim for VISA in the amount of $15.00.
- Authorize the December 2015 completed Claims Docket to make a part of the minutes and for the Board President to sign.
- Approve the Financial Reports and Solid Wastes Reports for the month of December 2015, as presented by the County Administrator.
- Approve the Annual Supply and Services Term Contract Bids for purchases for January 16, 2015 through January 16, 2017.
- Approve the engagement of Butler Snow to press the Simpson County, Mississippi 2016 Annual Continuing Disclosure Submission to the SEC $3,000.00.
- Consider the requests of George Bishop, 122 George Bishop Rd., Magee, MS 39111, regarding a land dispute with a Final Judgement adjusted December 11, 2013.
- Approve the renewal of the membership and payment of dues to the Mississippi Association of County Agricultural Agents in the amount of $80.00 for Amanda Blakeney.
- Consider the appointment of representative to serve on the Mississippi Central Planning and Development District Board of Directors for the new 4-year term. Current representatives are: Supervisor Curtis Skiffer as a county official; Ms. Wanda Coward as representative from Business and Industry; and Mr. Patrick Brown as minority representative.
- Approve the renewal of the contract with Mississippi Court Collections for the Justice Court and Tax Collector Offices with the addition of a 90 day termination clause at the will and pleasure of either party to the contract.
- Consider the request of William Cook who inquired about purchasing 30 acres +/- owned by Simpson County in Copiah County on Gatesville Road which was used many years ago as a county gravel pit. According to Mr. Cook, the pit was closed and reclaimed back in the 80s or 90s. It was originally purchased in 1928. It will move forward after appraisal.
- Approve applicable travel, meals, lodging, registration, and mileage expenses for: Justice Court Clerk, Kim Jackson, to attend the Mississippi Justice Court Clerks Winter Workshop in Olive Branch, MS, on February 17-19, 2016.
- County authorize the claims and immediate issuance of checks for the following: Simpson County Development Foundation for expenses paid on behalf of the Simpson County Economic Development District in the amount of $1,599.64.
- Acknowledge and record in the board minutes:
A. The notice from the Mississippi State Department of Health reducing clinic operating days of the Simpson County Health Department to match the clinical workload of 2 days per week, effective February 1, 2016. The Health Department will operate on Tuesdays and Thursdays and will be closed on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
B. Circuit Court order affirming the appointment of Sandra K. Winstead as Victim Assistance Coordinator for the District Attorney’s Office to replace the previous coordinator who was not rehired.
