Simpson County Academy hosted Copiah Academy in a district game at home Tuesday, August 23, 2017.
Game was scoreless until bottom of the 3rd inning when Bailey Sartin hit a sacrifice fly to allow Maddie Moodie to score.
Colonels would answer in the 4th.
Luckey’s pitching held Colonels to just one run.
The game would stay tied until the bottom of the 6th.
The bats would become hot for the cougars during the 6th.
Two runners on base Colonels would walk Luckey. With bases loaded and two outs Bailey Sartin would come to bat and hit a ball to the fence scoring the game winning runs.
Cougars would win by a score of 6-1 and are now 2-0 in district play.
Congratulations to Coach Evans and his girls on a big and exciting win.
