The City of Magee Census Committee continues work toward a complete and accurate count of the citizens of Magee for the 2020 Census.
Under the direction of Chairman Chris Lane, the 2020 Census Committee will have a booth at Crazy Day (October 26th) providing information to the public about the upcoming Census.
“I don’t think some people realize the importance and affect the census counts has on our city,” stated Lane. “Monies for out city depend on an accurate population count,” Chris said.

The 2020 United States Census will be the twenty-fourth United States Census. National Census Day, the reference day used for the census, will be April 1, 2020. This is the first U.S. census to offer options to respond online or by phone, in addition to the option to respond on a paper form as with previous censuses
The census dedicates how federal funding is distributed nationwide, including for programs such as SNAP, CHIP, Head Start, and the National School Lunch Program.
The census counts directs how businesses choose to invest in new factories, offices, and other job opportunities.
The census count decides the number of seats each state gets in the House of Representatives.
