The passage of Scripture chosen for today is found in 1 Timothy 2:3-4: “God, our Savior…wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.” Yes, the early Christians were taught by the apostles and their associates that God’s wish is for all men and women to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, repent of their sins, and arrive at the ultimate truth available merely for the asking. Jesus, through His death and resurrection, made all of this possible with His gift of salvation. The plan is simple enough for even a child. Why not accept Him? Do not continue to turn Him away. If you feel Him knocking at your heart’s door, invite Him in. Let us never be found saying, “I was almost persuaded to be a Christian.” Amen!
