Norman Johnston wears many hats at Magee High School.  Norman teaches World History.  He is the head archery and boys’ track coach and assistant football coach and drives a bus!  His involvement doesn’t stop here!  Coach Johnston volunteered to assume the duties of the Powerlifting team allowing the team to compete in State matches.

(James Floyd and Kurt Thurman both had a great showing. Wesley McCollum finished 2nd in his weight class. Jamaal Dinkins finished first in his class.)

Coach Johnston has a full family life!  He and his wife Shea have a soon to be 12 year old and a 3 month old!  Life at their house changed quickly!

Principal Bill Broadhead stated,”  Coach Johnston keeps asking what needs to be done to help our kids?  He’s been terrific.”

Norman coached at Taylorsville before joining the Trojans.

As a teacher, Coach explained,” we need to support and help our students.  Teaching has changed.  We must adapt to the changes.”

We have some lucky students at Magee High School who are learning life lessons one day at a time.
