The Scriptural passage is found in Colossians 3:12: “As God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.” We know we are God’s children because we know His voice. We have daily communion with Him; therefore, He expects us to emulate Him as our heavenly Father. We are to wrap ourselves in attributes of people who are chosen and set apart for His service. Compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience are singled out in this particular verse, but we know that love is the tie that binds them all together, because God is love.
Remember those attributes from the Scripture, and let’s purpose in our hearts to make them a part of us. I know I mention kindness daily and oftentimes gentleness. The others listed are equally important, too; therefore, let’s “clothe” ourselves in them and make it a daily practice. We can do it, and we can make a difference.
