Clinton Ray Ponder, 90, of Magee, Mississippi, died Wednesday, January 8, 2020, at Magee General Hospital in Magee, Mississippi. He was born Saturday, January 19, 1929.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 10, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee, Mississippi.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 10, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee. The burial will follow in Magee City Cemetery. Bro. Gary Roberts will officiate with the assistance from his two brothers Paul Henry Ponder and Billy Roy Ponder. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. (601) 849-5031
Mr. Ponder was a member and deacon of Eastside Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He served our country in the United States Air Force. He spent most of his career in the wholesale and retail grocery business, as a salesman and manger.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dovie Delores Garner Ponder; parents, William Henry and Pheba Alna Bishop Ponder; two sisters, Cornelia Catherine Ponder Crosby Miley of Pearl and Willie Mae Ponder Cook Denton of Jackson.
Survivors include two sons, Max Ponder of Magee and Mark Ponder and wife Dolores, of Harrison, AR; three grandchildren, Brinson Ponder and wife Carrie, of Harrison, AR, Sara Case and husband Keith, of Harrison, AR, Nathan Ponder and wife Santana, of Harrison, AR; six great-grandchildren, Klara Rose Ponder of Harrison, AR, Kendrix Ponder of Harrison, AR, Kara Lee Ponder of Harrison, AR, Raylan Case of Harrison, AR, Lee Case of Harrison, AR, Demi Burris of Harrison, AR, two brothers, Billy Roy Ponder and wife, Glenda, of Brandon and Paul Henry Ponder wife Martha, of Madison; three sisters, Bobbie Jean Ponder Ware Tuggle of Pearl, Lerah Lula Ponder Busby of Mendenhall, and Alna Carolyn Ponder Brewer Neill of Utica, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.
