The big surprise during the Magee Board of Alderman meeting Tuesday, April 21, 2020 was the new garbage truck that was parked out front of City Hall for display.

Magee received the new garbage truck this week. The cages on the back have to be installed before the truck can hit the routes.

Mayor Dale Berry advised the board Magee High School had been in contact with him concerning graduation. The school was entertaining having a drive through graduation and possibly needing to use the sports facility. The board was in agreement that whatever decision was reached they were supportive of the graduates having the best graduation possible, and could use sports complex if needed. Mayor also advised the board the idea of senior banners was being discussed and permission was granted for them to be displayed  inside city.

A reminder that the city is still running garbage routes once a week and will continue with this schedule until after the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Prayer were asked for Ashley Steele during her time in the hospital and treatments.

Water leak at the five-way stop has been completed. A bill has not been received. The city is working to see if any assistance is available.

The fire department had six hydrants repaired that were not working.

Park Director, David Dunn, stated they will give the baseball season one more meeting before making decision to see if the Governor opens the state back up and if ball recreational sports are allowed.

Dunn has reached out to host a Senior Showcase (Allstars) for college coaches at the sportsplex. A decision for the tournament to take place has not been reached at this time.

No further business meeting was adjourned.
