According to Forrest Dungan of ClearPoint Engineers, the paving project for city streets will begin October 21, 2024, with the paving of McLaurin Street.  Alderman Ward 4 Patrick Brown explained that McLaurin is requiring a great of milling work which is time consuming and expensive.  Duncan expressed the need for people to be patient during this time.

The completion date for paving is set for December 20, 2024.

Due to the high cost of asphalt and paving, the number of streets to receive paving is not anywhere near what the board desired.  The million dollars for the project doesn’t cover all the streets requiring paving.
