Christina Gisela Krauss Ingram, 84, from Mount Olive, Mississippi, passed away Monday at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She was on January 3, 1934 in the Guissar House in Niederhof, Czechoslovakia.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Magee. The Burial will follow in New Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery. Father Tom Delaney will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. (601) 849-5031

She was preceded in death by her late husband Wiley Jackson Ingram from Mt. Olive, MS.

Survivors include her Children; Roland Ingram (Tammy) from Mt. Olive, Robert Ingram (Sandra) from Mt. Olive, Wayne Ingram (Michelle) from Pensacola, Fl., Tommy Ingram (Debra) from Raleigh, MS, Ms., Eva Stevens (Lee) from Crystal Springs, MS., and Melissa Keyes (David) from Magee, MS; Grandchildren 15 and Great- Grandchildren 20.

Christina Ingram was born in Sudetenland in what is now Czechoslovakia. After WWII, the majority of Sudeten Germans were expelled to various parts of Germany with her family ending up in West Germany.

Mrs. Ingram met her husband, Wiley J. Ingram, a WWII veteran, in Ginsberg, Germany, while he was stationed at a U.S. Army Base in Laupheim, Germany. While in Germany, they married and lived in Burgau.

After retiring from military service, Mr. Ingram brought his family to his hometown of Mt. Olive where he wanted to farm and raise his family.

Mrs. Ingram was a devout Catholic and went to St. Stephen’s Church in Magee, MS. Most of her friends and social life revolved around the events in this church.

Mrs. Ingram was an avid homemaker and she loved to garden and cook. It did not take her long to master the art of southern cooking and canning.

In later years, some of her favorite things included drinking hot tea before bed, watching the Catholic channel, and knitting Christmas stockings for family and friends.

Mrs. Ingram had a great sense of humor but was also a very humble and loving, sweet person. She made it a point to never judge others because she understood that people have many struggles that they are not always visible. God, her family, and her friends were the most important things in her life and for that we are all blessed.

The family would like to thank Mrs. Wanda Yates for her many years of care that she provided their mother while she was in her home. Also, many thanks to Faith Kennedy and the staff at Lakeview Assisted Living where she felt very loved and cared for these last 3 years.

In lieu of flowers can be made to St. Stephen’s Catholic Church of Magee, MS or any charity  of your choice.
