Tootsie Edmonson was joined by family and friends to celebrate her 102 birthday! Tootsie has lived most of her life in Magee. She now resides with her son Richard in his home in Jackson.
Tootsie was a fixture at the Magee library for years, a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Magee, a fabulous cook, a sharp bridge player, and a lady always laughing.
I have known Tootsie all my life. She and my mother were friends from childhood. Tootsie was as fun as her name, which by the way is actually Lanell. Tootsie is a Magee High School graduate!

Pictured with Tootsie is her long time friend, Francis Keys.
Neighbor Colonel Roy Terrell greets Tootsie at the party.
Pictured Mary George Watkins McMillian and Jean Allen. Mary George lived next door to Tootsie!
Linda (George’s wife–Tootsie’s daughter-in Law), Linda’s daughter and granddaughter and baby grandson.
Kneeling: Richie’s daughter (still trying to get all of the names!)
Approximately forty people attended Sunday’s event at the Parlor of First Baptist Church of Magee.
One more time…Happy Birthday Tootsie.
