(June 25, 1948 – January 28, 2018)
Carolyn J. Matthews, 69, of Mendenhall, Mississippi, died Sunday in Jackson, MS. She was born Friday, June 25, 1948 in Douglas, Arizona.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee. The Burial will follow in Rocky Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Magee. Bro. Brian Dickens and Bro. Greg Frazier will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. (601) 849-5031.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, Willis Bates and Yvonne Bates, her sister Louise Burch and Great- Grandson Tristan Byrd.

Survivors include her Longtime friend Gail Cockrell, Daughters, Cindy Hart (Chris) and Charlotte Byrd (Travis); Sons, Charles “Chuck” Matthews (Amanda) and David Jones (Bobbie), 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; Nieces, Nancy Landrum and Tiffany Coker

Pallbearers will be David Jones, Chase Jones, Kyle Hart, Zak Baeuerle, Chuck Matthews and Pete Hodge.
