Carol Ray Stewart, 85 of Magee, Mississippi passed away from his earthly home to his heavenly home on Friday, June 3, 2022, at Forest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He was born Monday, April 12, 1937, in Smith County, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home at 302 8th Ave SW, Magee, Mississippi.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. The burial will follow in Good Water Baptist Church Cemetery in Magee, Mississippi. Pastor Kevin Walker and Brother Barry Warren will officiate. Special music will be performed by Miss Jamie Shows. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. 601-849-5031
Mr. Carol was a member of Mendenhall Church of God in Mendenhall, Mississippi. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He enjoyed working in his yards and with his flowers, watching wrestling, eating ice cream, spending time at Walmart, and most of all spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all of his loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janie Lavone Warren Stewart; granddaughter, Kimberly Noel Mason; father, Thomas Jefferson Stewart; mother, Rovilla Tuggle Stewart; brothers, Robert, Harlon, Leonard, J.B., Thomas, Daniel, Davis Stewart; sisters, Rachel Stewart and Lena Stewart Wedgeworth.
Survivors include his two sons, Thomas Stewart (Rose) and Sam Stewart (Terrie) both of Magee, Mississippi; three daughters, Janet Stewart Varnes (Joe), Teresa Stewart Mason (Paul), and Nancy Stewart (Dennis) of Magee, Mississippi; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews that he loved.
Pallbearers will be Sam Stewart, Brian Varnes, Jason Varnes, Kenny Varnes, Tyler Varnes, and Tucker Varnes. Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas Stewart, Eric Stewart, Clayton Tebo, Creed Layton, Shawn Walker, and Michael Walker.
