At approximately 10 a.m., today, Jan. 30, Magee High School received a bomb threat from an unidentified individual. The threat was made via email.
Contact was made to the Magee Police Department and Simpson County Sheriff’s Department and students and staff were evacuated. Police arrived promptly to the campus and began searching school grounds. After a full search, no weapons or suspicious packages were found.
The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. Students and staff have now returned to their classrooms for a regular school schedule. Police will continue to patrol the area.
All threats to our students and school are taken seriously and investigated thoroughly. School administrators will work with officials to conduct a full investigation.
