The Simpson County Board of Supervisors met for a regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, October 2, 2023.
The first order of business was to approve the minutes for the September meeting.
County Engineer Buddy Wolverton presented updates and approvals for engineering work being done in the county.
Chancery Clerk Tim Gray requested the board cancel outstanding checks over a year old and close out those accounts. The board approved.
Tax Assessor-Collector Jamie Brewer presented the surrendered tags for September, which were approved. She also presented delinquent lists for personal property and mobile homes, which were approved.
Sheriff Paul Mullins presented four items for approval, which are listed in the image below.
Emergency Management Coordinator John Kilpatrick was not present at the meeting because work was being done at the 911 center that required his attention.
County Administrator Rheul Dickinson presented updates and approvals on various matters, including cybersecurity for the county. He and Charlie Welch explained to the board that the number one threat facing the network is employees checking personal email while on the server.
The board recessed until its next meeting, which will be held Monday, October 16, 2023.
