Board Honors Anderson on his Retirement

Simpson County Board of Supervisors met Tuesday, February 15, 2022 for their regular scheduled meeting. First order of business was the opening of bids and proof of publication for linear grading, base repair leveling and reseal known as project #2022 Simpson County. Low Bid of $10,559,300.15 was awarded to R J M MCQueen Contracting Inc. W E Blain submitted bid for $10,699,027.80 and T L Wallace Construction submitted bid for $11,034,442.60.

The Simpson County Board of Supervisors honored James W Anderson for his public service with the Simpson County Solid Waste.  Mr. Anderson is retiring. Anderson began work for the county on March 3, 2014 and has serviced as the Solid Waste Manager from November 1, 2014 through February 28, 2022.

Buddy Wolverton, County Engineer, reported the status of State-Aid & LSSBP Projects as of January 31.2022.

Sheriff Paul Mullins submitted the following items which were approval.

The following new hires were approved:

The board approved the burial of a dead horse for Felicia Haslob located at 317 Sawmill Road, Braxton, MS.

Future Board Meeting:

Solid Waste adjusted routes for the President’s holiday week of February 21, 2022 will be Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. There will be no collection on Monday.
