Billy Hollingsworth, 88, of Mount Olive, Mississippi, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at Merit Health Central in Jackson, Mississippi. He was born Wednesday, November 11, 1931, in Covington County.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 11, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mt. Olive.
Graveside Funeral Service will be held Friday, September 11, 2020, at 1:30 p.m. at Rock Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Mount Olive. The burial will follow in Rock Hill Cemetery, 518 Rock Hill Road Mount Olive, MS 39119. Bro. Nelson J. Crozier will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Hollingsworth was a member of Rock Hill Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, and brother. He was the owner of a Poultry Farm in Mt. Olive. He enjoyed fishing and working in his garden. The joy of his life was his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Hollingsworth and Alma Horn Hollingsworth; six siblings, James, Virgil, Fred, Joseph, Alma Ruth, and Jewel.
Survivors include his loving wife of sixty-six years, Mary Hollingsworth of Mt. Olive; one son, John V. Hollingsworth (Sandy) of Mt. Olive; one daughter, Cynthia Hollingsworth Williams (Stanley) of Mt. Olive; seven grandchildren, Hope Anderson (Johnny), Christopher Williams (Brittney), Kayla Brewer, Savannah Hollingsworth (Stephen), Kristen Brewer, Connor Hollingsworth, and Ray Tharpe; seven great-grandchildren, Zac, Zoe (Christy Glenn), Trigger, Anabelle, J’Lynn, Mollie, and Caleigh; two great-great-grandchildren, Jackson and Brystol; and a host of other family members and friends.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Anderson, Zac Luckey, Christopher Williams, Stephen Kelly, Ray Tharpe, and James Miller
