Billy Burnham was born on March 31, 1943, in the County Line community, where he was raised and lived throughout his life. County Line was home, and the community and its people remained an important part of who he was.
Billy was a familiar face to generations of people in and around Puckett. Over the years, he owned Billy Burgers and Burnham Store, where countless friendships were made and memories were created. He had a special love for the town of Puckett and the people who called it home.
Billy was an active member of County Line Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon. His faith and his church family were an important part of his life.
Billy enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved riding a good gaited horse, bush hogging, coon hunting, and fox hunting. He was happiest outdoors, whether he was on the back of a good horse, working the land, or enjoying a hunt with friends.
Above all, Billy loved his family. He is survived by his wife, Linda Carol Burnham; his children, Steve Burnham, Dwight Burnham (Robin), and Candice Burnham; his grandchildren, Tucker Gentry, Collin Burnham, Jimmy Lee Gentry, and Kristyn Taylor Gunn; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Skip Burnham, and his sisters, Garral Fortenberry and Lynda Terrell.
Billy will be remembered as a hardworking country man who loved his family, his church, his community, and his hometown of Puckett. His life touched generations of people, and the memories made at Billy Burgers, Burnham Store, around the farm, at church, and with family and friends will continue to be shared for years to come.
A County Line man through and through and a beloved part of Puckett, Billy Burnham leaves behind a life and legacy that will not soon be forgotten.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at County Line Baptist Church, in Puckett MS, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM. with the service at 4:00 PM. Bro. Mickey Ferguson will officiate the service with interment following in County Line Cemetery.
