Billie Rose Murray Ainsworth was born September 7, 1930, in Summerland, Mississippi, the middle child of three. She and her beloved brothers were raised by industrious, hard-working parents on their farm. Summerland Baptist Church was her home church, and she graduated as valedictorian from Soso High School in 1948.

After graduating from Mississippi Southern College with a degree in Business Education in 1952, she worked four years as a stenographer at the Hercules plant in Hattiesburg, MS. Her dream to marry a farmer and return to farm life came true when she met Wiley Ainsworth.

They married at Main Street Baptist Church in Hattiesburg, MS, on March 18, 1956, and began their life together on his farm in Magee, Mississippi. Two treasured sons, Randy and Dan, soon completed their family. The couple spent 62 years successfully ranching and farming, raising their sons, being involved in the Magee community, and serving faithfully at Goodwater Baptist Church.

Following Wiley’s death in 2017, Rose moved to Lakeview Assisted Living in Magee when she turned 90. This fresh season in her life brought new and renewed friendships and fun recreation. The move also gave her new opportunities to show the love of Christ and serve others. Her family will forever be grateful for the care and love shown to Rose during her time at Lakeview.

It would be her desire that any gift in her memory be directed to the ministries of either Goodwater Baptist Church, 1313 Goodwater Road NW, Magee, MS 39111, or Summerland Baptist Church, 80 SCR 28-4, Taylorsville, MS 39168.
