(May 15, 1946 – September 4, 2023)

Betty Dean Welch Dauffenbach, 77 of Florence, Mississippi passed away from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Monday, September 4, 2023, at her home in Florence. She was born on Wednesday, May 15, 1946, in Simpson County, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3077 Simpson Hwy 13, Mendenhall, Mississippi.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023, at 4:30 p.m. at Rials Creek Cemetery, 185 Rials Creek Road, Mendenhall, Mississippi. Bro. David Hanna will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of arrangements. 601-847-4401

Mrs. Betty was a member of Rials Creek Church in Mendenhall, Mississippi.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend.  She enjoyed working in her garden, cooking, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.  She will be greatly missed by all of her loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her spouse, Harvey Cockrell; father, Myron McNeil “Bo” Welch; mother, Rachel Christine Cook Welch; brothers, Hiram Welch and Wesley Welch; and sister, Billie Welch McAlpin.

Survivors include her two daughters, Paula Welch Davis (Lex) of Brandon, MS and Christina Dauffenbach Smith (Doyle) of Mendenhall, MS; step-son, Bo Cockrell (Alicia) of Florence, MS; four grandchildren, Alexis Davis Casteel (Matt) of Jackson, MS, Harlan Davis (James) of Brandon, MS, Wesley Dauffenbach of Mendenhall, MS and Dalton Smith of Mendenhall, MS; one sister, Rachel Welch Russell (Tim) of Forest, MS; and a host of other family members and friends.

Pallbearers will be Lex Davis, Doyle Smith, Harlan Davis, Matt Casteel, Wesley Dauffenbach, and Dalton Smith.
