The Scriptural passage for today is taken from Romans 12:12: “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” The early Christian is being given encouragement for daily living–encouragement which still holds today for all of us. We are to find joy in hope, patience in affliction, and faithfulness in prayer. I’m currently working to increase patience in all areas of my life. I do fairly well in maintaining joy in hope, and I am working on having a stronger prayer life. These Scriptures serve a very definite purpose for the Christian and should never be read as being important only to a segment of society at one point in history. No, they are as vital today for us as they were when first written or spoken.
Let’s be sure to share the love, joy, and kindness with others as we go about our day. Smile often to make a difference in someone’s life and offer words of encouragement to build them up.
