Barney J. Baughman, Jr., 86 of Mendenhall, MS passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at the Simpson General Hospital in Mendenhall, MS. He was born Saturday, July 23, 1938 in Moss, MS.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall, 3077 Simpson Hwy 13, Mendenhall, MS. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 pm at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall. Burial will follow in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Mendenhall, MS. Bro. David Jager and Bro. Will McNeese will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of arrangements. 601-847-4401

Barney was a proud resident of Mendenhall, MS. He retired from State Farm after 35 years of service. Barney served his country for 6 years in the US Army. He loved to spend time with his wife Faye of 61 years. He was an avid gardener and loved to work in his yard. He lived for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, they all had a special place in his heart.

He was preceded in death by his father, Barney J. Baughman, Sr.; mother, Alice Mae Herrington Baughman; brothers, Bobby Baughman and Rodney Baughman; nephews, Zachary Baughman, Clay Baughman, Jimmy Dale Baughman, and Randall Moore.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Faye Moore Baughman; sons, Ronald Kevin Baughman (Angie) and Barry Neal Baughman (Carla); grandchildren, Corey Randall Baughman (Sarah), Kelsey Elizabeth Bryant (Dakota), Eddy Carl Ratcliff and Jasper Wesley Ratcliff; great grandchildren, Hayes Randall Baughman, Layla Elizabeth Bryant, Liviana Rose Bryant, Grayson Henry Baughman and Levi Hudson Bryant; brothers, Tommy Baughman (Carolyn), Pat Baughman (Jackie); sister-in-law, Brenda Baughman; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family.

Pallbearers will be Corey Randall Baughman, Eddy Carl Ratcliff, Dakota Bryant, Luther Boggan, Smokey McCloud, and Nick Weathersby.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mitchell Baughman, Mike Baughman, Ted Blakeney, and Charlie Brown.

Special music will be performed by Jason Sullivan.
