Alonzo Berry Rainey, known to all as Buddy, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2020. He was born on December 25, 1939, to his late parents, Alonzo “Roy” Rainey and Nattie (Weathersby) Rainey.
He was retired from CNN Railroad after many years. He served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.
Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Nattie Rainey; brother, Charles Larry Rainey; sisters, Sue Saranthas and Evelyn Crawford.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Julie (Cook) Rainey; three sons, Alonzo Bud Rainey, Jeffrey Rainey, James T Hall; daughters, Michelle Rainey, Tina Olney (Tony), Addie Henderson (Randy); brother, James Rainey (Becky); twenty-five grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 27, 2020, at Stonewall Cemetery located at Shivers Road and Stonewall Road, Shivers, MS. Brother Buddy Keyes and Brother Roger Lee will officiate.
Arrangements are entrusted with Tutor Funeral Home of Mendenhall.
