Magee Board of Alderman meeting was held Thursday, January 3, 2019 due to first Tuesday falling on a holiday.
Whitney Baker, Mayor Pro Temp, conducted the meeting.
Mayor Berry was absent from the meeting due to his involvement in an accident during the holidays resulting in a broken right humorous and left elbow. Mayor Berry underwent surgery Thursday and is reportedly doing well.
Minutes and claims documents were approved.
Chief Randy Crawford and Water Department Supervisor, Nevus Rankin, were present but had no new business at this time.
A discussion was made about some trash that had been reported on the side of the road on 5th Ave. The board agreed for Joe Worrell, Building Inspector, to make contact with the owners to clean the area or divide the trash for pickup.
Water department reported the water would be shut off Friday, January 4, 2019 to repair leak by the high school. The water department located the problem area and repairs should not take along time.
With no further business, the meeting was recessed until January 15th meeting.
