Simpson County Technical Center was awarded a grant to implement an edible school garden from Blue Cross Blue Shield of MS Foundation in the amount of $119,814.00. The grant will allow for updates/enhancements to three greenhouses, aquaponics system, hydroponics system and plant materials. An edible school garden connects students and their families to fresh produce by teaching them where healthy food comes from and how to grow it through nutrition education and culinary experiences. Pictured (left to right) Ayden Wolken, Sy Sullivan, Patti Braddock (Advisor), Eli Thomas, Rob Banks and Caitlyn Henry.
