****Just received word that the suspect in the killing of a Delta State Professor is another DSU Professor. Details are very limited as this time
Ethan A. Schmidt, an assistant professor of U.S. history, was shot and killed inside his office in Jobe Hall, officials with the Bolivar County coroner’s office said.
The person of interest is Dr. Shannon Lamb. He is also a suspect in the murder of a woman in Gautier this morning.
According to “School Cast” (the Delta State student alert), “an active shooter has been spotted on campus near Jobe Hall. Please take immediate lock down action.” (posted at 10:44 AM)
