Tuesday was a day of recognition at Simpson Academy. Following the presentation of Katie Rogers receiving the Prudential Spirit of Community Award, Headmaster Billy Wayne Hankins recognized the following students and their outstanding accomplishments.
Krista Brown: MC Presidential Scholarship with Distinction Award – $11,000 plus $3,000 per year.
Emily Crace: A full academic scholarship for four years
Katie Rogers: Received the Leadership Scholarship from USM.
Isaiah Adkins: Presidential Scholarship from Mississippi College; also placed in the top percentage in the Math & Science Competition hosted by Mississippi College. He will receive a scholarship for this accomplishment as well.
Stephen Rayborn: STAR Student with an ACT score of 31
Anna Leland: Has been accepted to attend the Mississippi Governor’s School this summer. Anna has also been chosen to represent Simpson at HOBY this summer.
Logan Barnard: Has been accepted as an alternate to attend the Mississippi Governor’s School this summer.
Hayden Craft: Student of the Month at Simpson County Career and Technical Center.
