Friday night, January 22nd, First Baptist Church was host to a night of praise and worship for women. Sponsored by Merchant Ship Ministries, the program featured Rochelle Frazier, a speaker and writer from McComb, MS, and Kayla Bailey, a contemporary Christian singer originally from Raleigh, MS.

Merchant Ship Ministries exists to equip and empower women to provide for themselves and their families, improving the quality of their lives through life and job skills training, economic development and spiritual well being. Merchant Ship Ministries partners with various organizations in Kenya to minister to women and disabled children.

Charlie Neely White is the director of Merchant Ship Ministries. Charlie, along with several other members of her organization, worked tirelessly to bring Rochelle and Kayla to FBC Magee.

Rochelle says her passion is stirring up a desire in women to truly seek Jesus. With an infectious love for Christ, Rochelle seeks to encourage and inspire others to love Him as well….and I’m just saying…Rochelle did some stirring! She is a dynamite speaker who brings His Word and teachings to life. Her passion was evident in every word she spoke…and challenging. I feel every woman who came away from the conference came with a renewed spirit!

Kayla Bailey was amazing! She is one talented Smith County girl! Her singing reached deep into many hearts opening closed areas that no one had been able to reach. Kayla has released a new single on iTunes…be sure and check it out!

Merchant Ship Ministries is committed to being as self-sustaining as possible through the sale of items handcrafted by the women we work with in Kenya, as well as for encouraging ministry to women right here in Mississippi! At the Friday night meeting, a “Store” was open featuring items made by the ladies of Kenya. Attendees purchased over $900 in products from the store!

Friday’s nights Melinda Hart and Sassi Southern Catering catered dinner.
