Sunday, September 20th, 2020, shortly after 6:00pm, Simpson County E911 operators received a complaint of domestic violence with shots fired at 109 Walker Hooker Road.  Simpson County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the scene and took Mr. James Edward Gray Jr. (39) into custody.  Mr. Arthur Montrel Jackson (29) was shot during the domestic violence incident and was eventually taken to Magee General hospital ER by family members before deputies arrival.
    Mr. Jackson succumbed to his injuries a short time later at the hospital.  James Edward Gray Jr. is currently being held at the Simpson County Adult Detention Center and he is charged with domestic violence.  Additional charges are anticipated in the shooting death of Arthur Jackson.
