Homecoming is always a special time at Simpson Academy, and this year’s celebration brought together current students, families and alumni for an evening filled with tradition, memories and Cougar pride.

Payten Myers was crowned Simpson Academy’s 2026 Homecoming Queen during the Homecoming festivities.

Payten was escorted by her father, Danny Myers, as she was presented during the ceremony. Miss Ellie Stewart, the 2025 Simpson Academy Homecoming Queen, returned for the special occasion and crowned Payten as the 2026 Queen.

“The Hole” was filled with students and alumni as the Simpson Academy family came together for Homecoming.

This year’s celebration recognized the reunion classes of 1976, 1986,  1996, 2006, and 2026, with classmates gathering to reminisce, visit, and catch up with friends they may not see nearly often enough.

Rain moved through the area late in the afternoon, causing a little concern about the evening’s plans. But in true Homecoming fashion, everything worked out. The skies cleared, and the weather cooperated for the Homecoming activities and football game.

Homecoming is about much more than a football game. It is about returning to a familiar place, seeing old friends, remembering special times and watching another generation of students make memories of their own.

The beautiful photographs from the evening were captured by lukehardin.photos featuring not only the crowning of the Queen and members of the Homecoming Court, but also the people and moments that made the evening special, and the football players.

Congratulations to Payten Myers, the 2026 Simpson Academy Homecoming Queen, and to all of the young ladies selected to represent their classes on the Homecoming Court.
