Ottis L. Bynum, Jr., at the age of 87 of D’Lo, Mississippi, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2026. Ottis L. Bynum was born on November 1, 1938, in Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mendenhall. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 10, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall. Burial will follow in Mendenhall Cemetery .Bro. Rodney Anderson and Bro. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Bynum; parents, Ottis and Beddie Bynum; two step-daughters: Ellen Cole, Irene Parrett; two sisters: Patricia Purser and Vertress Smith
-He is survived by stepdaughters, Betty (Red) Bankston of D’Lo, Jewel (James) Simmons of Collins, Brenda (late Billy) Thurman of Mendenhall, Sherry (Jackie) Holbrook of Mendenhall, Barbara (Micheal) Lopaz of Louisiana; two stepsons, Robert (Kathy) Parrett of Louisiana and David Parrett of Prentiss; three brothers, Sie Bynum of Gulfport, Jerry (Pat) Bynum of Magee, Buddy (Mary) Bynum of Louisiana; sisters, Carolyn Sue Bynum of Gulfport, Louis Gregory of Florence, and Angie (Darell) Kemp of Gulfport; and a host of step- grandchildren, step- great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
