J. W. and Lois Elaine Turner

J.W. Turner went to be with the Lord on December 31, 2023, and Lois Elaine Turner went to be with the Lord on May 1, 2026.

J.W. was born in Philadelphia, MS on July 3, 1940 to John James M. and Lillie Mae Smith Turner. J W. was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend.

Elaine was born in Petal, MS on January 28, 1944 to Raymond E. German, Sr. and Lois Earnestine Bolton German. Elaine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.

J.W. and Elaine met while living in Mobile, AL. They dated for four years, then married on August 17, 1964. On September 21, 1965, they welcomed their only child, Mary “Missy” Elaine Turner Zebert. Shortly after the birth of their daughter, J.W. was given an opportunity to live out his dream of driving 18-wheelers, so he and Elaine decided to moved their family to Florence, MS and then to Magee, MS permanently. J.W. worked for Jitney Jungle for over 20 years. Elaine worked for Universal, later called MagnaTek, for 20 years.

J.W is preceded in death by John James M. Turner (father), Lillie Mae Smith Turner (mother); Iva Leigh Turner (infant sister), Willie Mae Turner (infant sister), Janie Ruth Salter (sister), and John Austin Turner (brother).

Elaine is preceded in death by J.W. Turner (husband), Raymond German, Sr. (father), Lois Earnestine Bolton German (mother), Jimmy German (brother), Mary Frances Phillips (sister), Raymond German, Jr. (brother), Shelly German (brother), Kelly Phillips (niece), Ray German, III (nephew) and Jamie German Ohsner (niece).

J. and Elaine are survived by their daughter Mary “Missy” Elaine Turner Zebert, two precious granddaughters, Catherine Elizabeth Zebert-Redmon (Karl) and Nora Lee Ann Zebert-Combs (Major).

Additional survivors of J. are Billy (Martha) Turner (brother) and Linda (Thomas) Brown (sister).

There are a whole host of nieces and nephews who have also survived J. W.

Additional survivors of Elaine are Johnny German (brother), Christy (Dennis) Jackson (sister) and her best friend for over 50 years Betty Ruth Jones. There are a whole host of nieces and nephews who have also survived Elaine.
