I’m Mark Grubbs, a lifetime resident of Magee, currently serving as Alderman of Ward 1 and running to be your next Mayor of Magee. I have a deep passion for our city’s future and a commitment to positive change. With clear communication and efficient leadership as the cornerstone of my plan, I’m ready to move Magee forward. In the following sections, I’ll outline the steps I intend to take to clean up our city, invest in its growth, and create better opportunities for everyone. This plan focuses on strengthening internal cooperation, improving our infrastructure, and promoting community well-being. I love this city and truly believe in its potential. But realizing that potential requires bold action—a willingness to tear down barriers and tackle the hard work ahead. Let’s build a better Magee together.
A thriving city starts with open dialogue and a shared vision. Unfortunately, a lack of coordination between departments within the city has created unnecessary conflicts, slowing down progress. That needs to change. Effective leadership isn’t just about making decisions—it’s about bringing people together to solve problems. That’s why I will implement weekly staff meetings with all department heads to ensure transparency, accountability, and a shared understanding of priorities. When our city leaders work in sync, we eliminate confusion, prevent delays, and focus on what really matters—moving Magee forward.
Cleaning Up Magee: A City We Can Be Proud Of
One of the most pressing concerns I hear from residents is the need for a citywide cleanup—and I’m ready to tackle it starting day one. We’ll begin in the downtown area and expand outward, ensuring that Magee reflects the pride we have in our community.
But this isn’t just about looks. A clean city attracts businesses, increases property values, and improves quality of life for everyone. We need to act, and I will make this a top priority.
Investing in Our Future: Securing the Resources We Need
Magee has incredible opportunities for growth, but to take advantage of them, we need the right resources and funding. I will:
- Hire a full-time grant writer to aggressively pursue funding for critical projects. There are grants available—we just need to go after them.
- Secure legislative funding for water and sewer line replacements, some of which are over 50 years old and in urgent need of repair.
- Seek investments in infrastructure to create a safer, more efficient city for residents and businesses alike.
