2020 brings a new Circuit Clerk to Simpson County, Witt Fortenberry. Witt, a lawyer by trade, brings a dedication and open mind to an important office in our county.
I visited with Witt a few weeks ago and talked with him about his plans for his office during 2020.
Witt mentioned as one of his first goals for 2020 was continued work and development on the county website. Witt is aware of the number of people who conduct business online. He wants to be ready to assist with all facets of his office online.
“I work for the people and will continue to do so to the best of my ability,” stated Witt.
Witt is interested in working with young people and educating them about the role of the Circuit Clerk and their importance in elections.
Witt plans to work with all media outlets with election updates.
He hopes to add the ability to secure a Passport at his office.
Witt’s door is always open. He wants to work with the public and serve them in the best way possible.
