William Sawyer Magee, 14, of Hurley, MS, went to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, April 11, 2022.
Sawyer was born October 30, 2007, at 10:50 AM at Springhill Memorial Hospital in Mobile, AL. He was one of the two lights of the lives of his parents, Robert and Aleen. He and his sister were unlike many siblings because they were best friends, and he would do anything to protect her. He became Celia’s “big little brother” by the time he was 12 years old. He loved his momma more than anything in this world and he was his dad’s constant partner in crime. He loved playing football, baseball, and basketball. His passion for sports was evident when he started playing baseball at four years old and football at five years old. He loved the outdoors and would rather be outside than inside. He excelled at anything he touched. If it didn’t come easy to him, he would work and then work some more. He was never satisfied with just being “good enough.” We would spend hours at the baseball field house working on his hitting, pitching, and catching. If he didn’t like how he was doing, he would work until he had blisters on his hands. His grandparents, Mimi, Grandpa, Grandma, Grammy, and Papa rarely told him no to anything and his Grammy would sneak “Ding Dongs” and chocolate chip cookies to him against the rules of his Papa. He loved hunting, fishing, and riding Mimi’s four-wheeler at her house every time he was there. He had so many brothers and sisters in the community that loved him dearly and he loved them. He was the normal teenage boy in that he thought highly of what people thought about him, even though he would say that he did not. He was loved by so many, and his loss has created a void that will never be filled.
He is preceded in death by his Poppy, William Wiley Magee.
He is survived by his parents, Robert and Aleen Magee of Hurley, MS; sister, Celia Rose Magee of Hurley, MS; his Mimi, Elizabeth Magee of Mendenhall, MS, his grandpa and grandma, Walter and Juanita Beesley of McComb, MS, his Papa and Grammy, David and Salena Williams of Moss Point, MS; Aunt Lucy and Uncle Don Roark and their children, Avery and Carson of Flowood, MS; Uncle Lewis “Lew” Beesley and his son, Corbin of McComb, MS; Uncle Paul and Aunt Delila Beesley and their children, Lelianna, Alexandra, and Victoria of McComb, MS; Uncle Jim and Aunt Kaci Sala and their son, James David of Moss Point, MS; Uncle Kyle and Aunt Sarah Williams and their children, Avyn, Ayla, Ace, and Anny of Lucedale,
