Wesley E. Bowen, 75 of Mendenhall, MS passed away from his earthly home to his heavenly home on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at Simpson General Hospital in Mendenhall, Mississippi. He was born Monday, January 28, 1946, in Mendenhall, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Jupiter Baptist Church on Jupiter Road, Braxton, Mississippi.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Jupiter Baptist Church. The burial will follow in Jupiter Baptist Church Cemetery in Braxton, Mississippi. Brother Danny Powell will officiate. Special music will be provided by Mrs. Rita Welch.  Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of arrangements. 601-847-4401

Wesley was a member of Jupiter Baptist Church.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend.  He was a graduate of Mendenhall High School.  He attended the University of Southern Mississippi where he played football.  He worked for Grand Gulf Nuclear Plant in Port Gibson, MS, for ten years, Magnetek for twelve years.  He was the owner and operator of Bowen Electric in Mendenhall for fourteen years, where he then retired.  After retirement, he was the co-owner with his wife of Professional Tax Service in Mendenhall.  He will be greatly missed by loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Elgie Bowen; and sister, Christie Bowen.

Survivors include his wife of fifty years, Linda Ginn Bowen of Mendenhall, MS; sons, Eric Bowen (Dawn) of Braxton, MS, Brian Bowen (Casey) of Mendenhall, MS, and Brett Bowen (Lindy) of Mendenhall, MS; mother, Grace Coleman Bowen of Mendenhall, MS; grandchildren, Brandon Bowen (Brooke) of Mendenhall, MS, Austin Bowen of Mendenhall, MS, Landon Bowen of Mendenhall, MS, Dawson Bowen of Mendenhall, MS, and Rylan Bowen of Mendenhall, MS; brothers, Billy Bowen (Beverly) of La Porte, TX, Freddie Bowen (Linda) of Bogue Chitto, MS, and William Craft (Sarah Bailey) of Brandon, MS.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Bowen, Austin Bowen, Landon Bowen, Brad White, Blake Benton, William Craft, Robert Grubbs, and Rob Grubbs.
