Wardell Barnard of Magee, Mississippi

Wardell Barnard passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at the age of 86. He was born on September 15, 1935, in Smith County, MS to Bennie David and Bertie (Wells) Barnard.
Wardell is retired from Helmerich & Payne, Inc. where he worked for many years.  He was a loving and devoted husband, father, PawPaw, great grandfather, and friend. He was a longtime member of the Oak Hill Masonic Lodge, the Wahabi Shriners, and the Magee Congregational Methodist Church.
He is survived by his son, Jerry Dale Barnard (Cindy); daughter, Melissa Barnard Barnes (Robbie); brothers, Pete (Sue) Barnard, Bennie Lloyd (Arlene) Barnard, and Kenny (Kathi) Barnard; granddaughters, LauraLyn Barnes Barr, and Whitney Barnes Baker (Brad); and six great-grandchildren, Kaylea Barr, Meredith Barr, and Sutton Barr, Laura James Baker, Barnes Baker, and Kadie Ruth Baker.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jean Purvis Barnard, and his siblings, James Barnard, Opal Barnard Walker, Mary Barnard Tanner, and Sue Barnard Spangler.
Visitation for friends will be held on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at Tutor Funeral Home in Magee, MS from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.  Services are Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. at Tutor Chapel with interment following at Sharon Presbyterian Cemetery in Magee, MS. Brother Chris Garcia will officiate.
Arrangements are entrusted to Tutor Funeral Home of Magee.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Magee Congregational Methodist Church, 507 Cherry Street NW, Magee, MS 39111 or to Sharon Cemetery Association, 373 Albert Runnels Road, Magee, MS 39111.
