Walk Mississippi Challenge Encourages Healthy Living Across the State

The Mississippi State University Extension Service invites Mississippians to lace up their walking shoes and join the Walk Mississippi Challenge, a six-week statewide fitness event designed to promote health and community connection.

The challenge runs from October 11 through November 21, encouraging individuals or teams to walk 180 miles in six weeks — about 8,000 steps per day. Participants can walk anywhere, anytime, at their own pace, making the program accessible for all ages and fitness levels.

Walk Mississippi also offers a virtual community support group on Facebook and through a weekly email list. Those who join will receive:
