Waging War

I saw the movie War Room last week. Critics have blasted it and many will judge it as “artistically lacking” but this movie is not about winning awards; it is about winning a war!

In our homes, our communities, our schools and our jobs it feels as though death and destruction are winning the War for our hearts and minds. We see turmoil, hatred, killings, churches and families destroyed or damaged. We have abandoned our churches for sports and leisure, our homes for worldly pleasures, and our children for others to raise and influence! At times it feels like we are powerless to stop the madness!

But we have forgotten that we are children of the KING! We have access to all of the tools necessary to wage war and WIN!   We must get out of God’s way and let Him control us! We can go boldly to the throne and beg Him for guidance and solutions but we must first yield our lives to Him. Just as a General must have control of his troops to wage war and win, we cannot ask God to heal our land if we are not willing give him control of our lives!  We need to ask to be instruments of His will, not our will. We must be willing to give up control!! We must start praying and studying God’s word to start a spiritual renewal and a great revival across this land.

“But Jesus looked at them and said to them, ‘With men this is impossible but with God all things are possible’” (Matthew 19:26 NKJV)

“12 therefore, let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. 13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.” (1Corinthians 10:12-13 NKJV)

“Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your Faithfulness.”

(Lamentations 3:22-23 NKJV)
