The Uptown Thrift Store located at 114 Main Avenue South near Instant Cash, celebrated their upcoming opening with a Ribbon Cutting sponsored by the Magee Chamber of Commerce.

Owner Jerry Cook greeted guest!

The store will open on Friday and Saturdays from 8-5 and will be open on October 11th & 12th.

Jerry told me that the idea was a direction from God.  He feels a great need to help the less fortunate in our area.

Anyone wanting to make donations to the new business may do so by calling Jerry at 601-808-2070 or stopping by the store.  Clothing and household items are needed.

Working with Jerry are his children Lisa and Christopher Cook.

Chamber President Lacey Evans welcomed Mr. Cook and presented the business with a plaque to be displayed at his business.

Chamber members were in attendance for the ceremony.
