Sandra Herrin of Mendenhall was injured when a tree fell on her car during the Thursday night storm in Mendenhall. Sandra, a graduate of Simpson Academy and friend to many many people…was severely injured in the accident.
This is an update from Angela Stephens who graduated from SCA with Sandra:
Update on Sandra Herrin: Jeff just called me and said the doctor just came in to discuss the treatment plan. On Monday morning they will put her in ICU and place the “Halo”. This is to align the bones in her neck and allow the body to heal the injury. It’s a very difficult injury but he is hoping the halo will help the healing process. This will be a 12 week process (wearing the halo). After that, he is hoping to see improvement. If not, he will go in and do surgery, which shouldn’t be as bad after the halo treatment as it would if he went in on Monday morning and did surgery. He feels this is the best option. Hopefully she will be free to go home Wednesday if all goes well. The family thanks you all for your thoughts and prayers as Sandra is loved by (and loves) so many! We ask that you all continue lifting her up in prayer. The most important thing for her is prayers and plenty of rest so she can be ready for the halo procedure Monday morning. Again, thank you all so much for your love and prayers!
