Here is some mission work we can do right her in Magee for one of our own, Kim Holbrook.
As reported in an earlier email, Kim is very sick with melanoma which is attacking almost all of her body.
Below is an update from one of her cousins.
I don’t know if you have gotten a recent update on Kim. In case you haven’t, I feel an obligation to the family to pass this along. I’ve been in touch with Dot, Kim’s Aunt. The news is not good at all. Kim was admitted back into the hospital last week because she thought she had an infection. As it turns out, they found another mass that has grown since the surgery. They sent her home Saturday but she started bleeding. They re-admitted her Sunday. They got bad news today. She can’t have radiation or chemo. The tumor is so big it has her bladder and rectum obstructed. They are going to give her a new med. If she agrees to take it they will start tomorrow. There are lots of side effects. If the treatment doesn’t work, it could be weeks.
Please keep her and her family in your prayers. I also heard she didn’t have insurance which is also tragic. I’ll keep you updated as I learn more.
Kim’s address is: 129 6th Street SE, Magee, MS 39111
Notes of encouragement would be greatly appreciated.
