Thomas Richard Woodard, 84, of Taylorsville, Mississippi, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2020, in Purvis, Mississippi. He was born Monday, December 23, 1935, in Ellisville, Mississippi.

          Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2020, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Taylorsville, Mississippi.

          Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 13, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Taylorsville. The burial will follow in Fellowship Cemetery with military rites. Bro. Carey Bass will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Taylorsville is in charge of arrangements. (601) 785-6564

          Mr. Woodard was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He served our country in the United States Army.  He was a retired Lineman after 44 years of service to Southern Pine Electric. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood work, and eating homemade corn bread and buttermilk.

          He was preceded in death by parents, Vernon and Mary Magdalene Woodard; one granddaughter, Kandice Woodard; two brothers, Marvin Woodard and Roland Woodard; four sisters, Dorothy Sorey, Pauline Murphy, Ruby Brown, and Myrtle Murphy.

          Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years Marguerite Woodard of Taylorsville; two sons, Danny Woodard (Marilyn) of Taylorsville and Kenny Woodard (Stacy) of Oloh; five grandchildren, Christopher Woodard (Meagan) of Taylorsville, Kim Valentine of Taylorsville, Leslie Brown (Byron) of Purvis, Adam Woodard of Oloh, and Morgan Woodard of Oloh; six great-grandchildren, Jameson Woodard of Taylorsville, Harlow Rayne Woodard of Taylorsville, Dawson Valentine of Taylorsville, Harrison Walley of Taylorsville, Brayden Brown of Purvis, and Brody Brown of Purvis; and a host of nieces and nephews.

          Pallbearers will be Chrisopher Woodard, Adam Woodard, Charlie Murphy, Brian Cawthon, Johnny Cawthon, and Duane Simmons.
