I think the 4th of July ranks right up there with Christmas as a heart touching holiday. Oh, nothing can upstage the celebration of our Lord and Savior…but recognizing the scarifies these men and women…and their families…make for my freedom is almost inconceivable! These people give their lives to keeping our freedom safe.

I’m sure none of us realize the sheer magnitude of what military personal “give up.” Just the time away from their family is scary enough…but many are living in constant fear for their own lives…as they protect ours.

4th of July is not the only day I pray for these heroes…everyday I lift them to our Lord and Savior in a prayer of protection and thanksgiving.

Fly the USA flag with pride…put some red, white, and blue in your yard…in your house…at your 4th celebration…and as we look at those flags flying, fireworks popping…think of the men and women who love their nation enough to dedicate their lives to our freedom.

I have to say…my prayers have been heavy for Mark Brister everyday as he serves our country…the personal connection makes a great difference in how one “looks” at the day…and everyday. Thank you Mark…and thank the people who stand beside you…we do care…we do appreciate…and we do love the USA

This weekend, across our country we will celebrate the 239th anniversary of a warm July day in Philadelphia, when 56 patriots pledged “their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor” to the independence of the United States of America. They had a shared belief that this new nation’s citizens were “created equal and endowed with inalienable rights.”
