Monday morning an incident took place at Magee High School causing the evocation of the high school building. Details are still sketchy, but from what I understand is that a threating call was made causing the removal of students from the building. The building was soon canvased and secured by the Magee Police Department and the Simpson County Sheriff Department. As usual, our law enforcement and school officials handled the situation with precision. Why some person would call with threats is beyond me…but this is a very hard case to prove…and a very sad time in our society.
Joyce Walker has been moved to Regency Hospital in Hattiesburg, which provides skilled care for long term patients. Paul is scheduled to be released from the hospital today (Tuesday).

The BYW Christmas Tour of Homes was a huge success! Thanks again to the people who placed their homes on the tour: Lee and Beth Moore, Danny Moseley, and Bill and Linda Bennett. As of yesterday, our secretary Dorothy Partridge deposited $1,825…and some monies have not been turned in!!! We are still taking donations…just contact me (Sue@mageenews.com) and I’ll tell you where to send your check. The BYW has a goal of $2,000…I believe we’ll make it yet. This amount is before expenses …everyone has been very generous and our expenses are not a lot!!! Thanks so much for the support of our community.
