Sybil Sanders Herbert passed away on September 5, 2017, after a lengthy battle with cancer.  She was born on July 25, 1933, to parents, William Jennings Sanders and Ola Keys Sanders.

She is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, Douglas C. Herbert; her children, Douglas, Jr. (Toni), Bill, Mark (Darlene), Lisa Hilton (Cary) and her nephew, Franz Sanders. She is also survived by six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and siblings, Raymond Sanders (Ahlean), Jewel Doran (Will) and Jeanette Broussard. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Neil Sanders.

Sybil was a member of the Mendenhall United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher, UMW president, secretary to the Administrative Board, and chairwoman of the Forever Young Group. She worked as a secretary for Mendenhall City Schools for 25 years.

Visitation will be Friday, September 8, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m at Tutor Funeral Home in Mendenhall. Funeral services will be held at Mendenhall United Methodist Church on Saturday, September 9, at 11:00 a.m. with one hour of visitation before the service. Interment will be at Mendenhall City Cemetery following the service.

Arrangements are entrusted to Tutor Funeral Home of Mendenhall.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mendenhall United Methodist Church.
