Laurel, Miss. – South Central Regional Medical Center is excited to welcome Dileepa Chathuranga, MD.
Dr. Chathuranga is a Sri Lankan native and a board-certified gastroenterologist. He earned his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Colombo in Sri Lanka in 2013. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Rochester General Hospital in New York in 2021 and went on to complete a three-year fellowship in gastroenterology at the same institution.
“It’s an honor to join the medical staff at SCRMC,” Dr. Chathuranga said. “I look forward to serving the community and helping them improve their digestive health.”
Dr. Chathuranga joins the staff at South Central Gastroenterology, where he works alongside Carolyn H. Cegielski, DO; Jesse H. Ezzell, Jr., MD; Stephen P. Johnson, DO; Mary Morgan, NP; and Rhonda Richardson, NP.
