Simpson County Board of Supervisors Meeting 11/15/2019

Simpson County Board of Supervisors opened with prayer Friday, November 15, 2019.

First order of business was addressing concern from citizen Lance Neely regarding road not usable. The board agreed to do everything possible to work with the citizen and to allow access to road so their land can be accessible.

Roads Manager Ben Warren presented a speed limit change on the recommendation of County Engineer Buddy Wolverton. The change will apply to 25 MPH on Miss Hester Road. Mr. Warren was granted permission to hire two employees.

John Kilpatrick Emergency Management Coordinator presented his monthly report to the board.

Chancery Clerk Tommy Joe Harvey presented bids and proof of publication for sale of two John Deer Tractors. Three bids were received. The bids opened and will be review and the highest return will be accepted. Mr. Harvey presented the 2018 Independent Auditor’s report on purchasing, inventory controls and purchase clerk schedules as required by section 31-7-115 Mississippi Code Ann. (1972).

Interim Sheriff Greg Reynolds presented the following Human Resources report.

The board approved the payment of the Omnigo software service for the sheriff department in the amount of $14,497.08.

County Administrator Rhuel Dickinson presented the following report for approval.

All county elected officials swearing in ceremony will be held Friday, January 3, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in the Courtroom in the Simpson County Historic Courthouse.
