Magee police arrived on the scene at O’Reilly’s around 6:30 pm, where Officer Matt Gibson retrieved approximately six bullet casings from the parking lot and inside the store.
Following the physical altercation, which occurred in the store, a black male, driving a silver Crown Victoria, went to his car, retrieving a handgun, at which time he subsequently started shooting at least one shot through the glass before entering the store and firing multiple rounds, witnesses on the scene reported. Witnesses also reported the shooter was accompanied by a black female in the passenger seat. The female was reported by the victim to be his child’s mother.
The victim reported his two toddlers were in his vehicle next to the shooter, including the child of the female who allegedly accompanied the shooter.
Fortunately, no one was shot during this potentially fatal altercation.
The victim’s mother reported the shooter has been harassing her son for almost two years.
No identities have yet been release, and the shooting is under investigation by Magee Police Department.
The police will study the surveillance tapes from O’Reilly’s for additional information.
