Robert Paul Roberts, known lovingly as Paul, was born January 30, 1934, to Robert Fulton Roberts and Addie Evans Roberts.

On August 5, 2026, Paul went home to be with the Lord, leaving behind a legacy of faith, service, and love that touched generations. As one of ten siblings, he grew into a man whose heart for people and devotion to God shaped countless lives. He was a devoted brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, pastor, mentor, and friend.

At just nine years old, Paul was saved by grace at Mount Zion Baptist Church and later baptized in Silver Creek, beginning a lifelong walk with Christ that would define his purpose. In 1953, he served one year in the United States Air Force and, in that same year, surrendered to the ministry. What followed was a remarkable 33 years of dedicated service across five different churches, where he preached countless sermons, pastored multiple bodies of believers, and guided many to salvation. Through weddings, hospital visits, funerals, and everyday moments of compassion, he poured comfort, hope, and love into the lives of those he served.

Paul was also a man who delighted in sports. He proudly held the title of #l Simpson Academy Cougar Fan and attended every sporting event he possibly could. His presence, beloved by students, coaches, and patrons alike, became a cherished part of Simpson Academy tradition.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Joyce Greer Roberts; his parents, Robert Fulton and Addie Evans Roberts; his brothers Buren Roberts and Bryan Roberts; his sisters Evelyn Sills and Gladys Leto; and his grandson Todd Roberts.

He is survived by his children: Bob Roberts; Sheila Smith (Steve); Vicki Wesbrooks (Jay); and Chris Roberts. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Michelle Harrison (Chris), April Magee (Rob), Steven Smith (Rachel), Brenton Wes brooks (Monica), Mitchell Smith, Trae Roberts (Kati), and Alex Duncan; as well as a host of greatgrandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Carolyn Ann Jones (Larry) and Janice Hendricks (George), and his brothers Kenneth Roberts (Kathy), Jim Roberts, and Dewitt Roberts (Carolyn).

A man of profound faith, Paul cherished the comforting words of Psalm 23, a passage that guided him throughout his life and ministry: “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want … ”

Robert Paul Roberts lived a life anchored in faith and overflowing with love. His influence endures in the hearts of family, congregations, friends, and all those blessed enough to have known him.
